OC Nick’s marathon against the odds

After a freak accident where a telegraph pole collapsed onto Nick, his friends and family were told he was unlikely to survive the night and even if he did he would have a dramatically different personality. It’s nothing short of a miracle that he did get his life back, against all predictions from surgeons, and so much so, that he can run the marathon.

Nick recollects “the race was such an incredible atmosphere, the weather forecast for the day was awful on the Saturday but luckily the rain held off! Kieren and myself ran it together soaking up the atmosphere from the crowd and slowly getting more exhausted through the course. People cheering and the thought of raising all this money for people and their families who are affecting by brain injury kept us going and we were mighty glad when the finish line came into view! It really was an amazing day and we were all very glad to have done it for such a great cause.”
