Positive Influencers Insight Evening
A London venue packed full of positive influencers enthused Sixth Form pupils, alumni and parents at our latest CaterhamConnected Insight Evening.
We were honoured to welcome Cephas Williams as our keynote speaker and a panel of Old Caterhamians and parents each changing the world around them for the better in very different ways. Cephas is the founder and photographer behind the groundbreaking 56 Black Men campaign (2018), and Portrait of Black Britain (2021), he is the founder of The Black British Network launched alongside a letter Cephas penned to his first son Zion after the murder of George Floyd in 2020.
After the opening address from our keynote speaker, the audience rotated around our panellists in ‘café-style’ professional networking, hearing from:
Rory Moore OC who founded the world’s largest Covid-19 volunteering network, and has received awards for his work from the United Nations, UK Prime Minister, and the OECD.
Annie Gale who oversees the ‘RAW Talent’ programme at COOK, supporting people from prison, in homelessness, addiction and mental ill health into meaningful, sustainable work and who also chairs the Employment Advisory Board for HMP East Sutton Park.
Will Moy OC, Chief Executive of Full Fact, the UK’s independent fact checking charity which has pioneered automated fact checking.
Rhia Patel OC who at university began working with FreshSight, a student-led consultancy offering services and solutions to socially-conscious organisations, and then moved to Buenos Aires with Delicias de Alicia to run educational and cooking workshops for underprivileged children.
Insight Evenings provide the opportunity to professional network and to hear from inspiring experts within and beyond the Caterham School community. Recent events have focused on finance, law and professional sport. Our thanks to the Old Caterhamians Association for their support of the Insight Events.
